The objective is to depict the fall of the Roman Empire and shed light on the toil of neglected countries. The campaign story revolves around two opposing factions—the House of Kantakouzenoi and the Imperial Regency of the Roman Empire—who battle for the guardianship of the heir to the throne. The Regency faction is allied with the Bulgarian Empire and Kingdoms of Serbia, while the Kantakouzenos have the support of the Ottomans and the Emir of Aydin, causing unrest in the eastern part of the Empire.

As you progress in the game, you will encounter more battling nations that you can persuade to unify with your faction. The mod also features a refurbished and more accurate map, including the western part of Asia Minor, the Balkans, Italy, the Holy Roman Empire up to Strasbourg, Bavaria, Vienna, and Central and Eastern Europe up to Kyiv. Additionally, a fresh feudal system and numerous religious scripts have been added to enhance the depth of gameplay.
